A very rainy day with a sunny end (09.08.2013) (550km)

Last nights campground was another candidate for "worst bathrooms of canada". If you intend to use bathrooms, avoid Woolastook campground near Kings Landing. It is beautifully located on an island in the middle of a lake but offers nothing else.

Today we will travel another 683km to come back close to Quebec City. What a great day for just driving, it is raining all the way.

As we arrive on our very small but nice campground next to the Fort de La Martiniere.

The fort was built in 1909 and in use untill 1943. It served as an important strategic site to protect the port of Quebec.

It was occupied by local 6th Artillery Regiment during the two World Wars staffed with 100 to 500 soldiers at different times. The canons (now de-mounted) could shoot across the St.Laurence stream to the opposite side of the island. They actually never had to be used on any enemies.

The campground offers a small pool and spa - and this rainy day ends with a spot of sun and a bath in the warm spa!

Sending the kids to the bathroom...nobody returns. After 30mins I go to look after them and find them...
